ABOUT ME

Talking about economics and tax policy is fun! It was the Tax Reform Act of 1986 that sparked my interest in tax policy, led me to study for a Ph.D., and then to work for the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Tax Policy.  I've done lots of other things along the way, including working on Wall Street, living in Brusssels and helping the European Commission design a new company tax policy, and writing for publications ranging from Tax Notes to Bloomberg to The Washington Post. Lately, my interests have expanded to understand how The Sharing Economy is changing the way we work and how to get my students as interested in economic analysis as I am. When not doing economics, I like to cook and play tennis.  I also am a pretty devoted family gal - most of my cooking is for my husband and three kids (learned that skill from my own mom!).
